MISSION

WORK WITH TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS TO CREATE WEALTH IN HOST COMMUNITIES THROUGH RESPONSIBLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND VINTAGE PROMOTION OF GHANA.


OBJECTIVES

  • Identify and act in concert with the MOT/MCC & other MDAS (GTB, GWD, GMMB, NCC, Universities, etc) over 4 months in the area of training, product and market research, technical & infrastructural support planning for a twenty-month tourism development scheme.

  • Collaborate with tourism related NGO’S (NCRC, GWS, CI, etc) communities and District Assemblies to provide appropriate facilities, services and information for a rich visitor experience of three selected sites and events.

  • Educate and provide identifiable community groups (schools, churches, traditional authorities, opinion leaders) with technical and logistical support for environmental sanitation, safety and security of tourists, conservation and preservation of the built & natural environment .

  • Develop a marketing campaign in the print and electronic media using the images of internationally known Ghanaian personalities (such as, H.E Mr. Kofi Annan, Michael Essien, Azumah Nelson etc) as icons for the promotion of Ghana in the generating countries. This will be achieved in collaboration with Tour Operators, Airlines, Ghanaian Missions and Associations of Ghanaian citizens abroad.

  • Increase domestic tourism by 20% annually through the development and promotion of special events and tour packages and also cultivate the culture of saving for leisure travel among Ghanaians.

  • Seek collaboration with foreign missions and partners in the local and international media to develop and promote “The Golden Face of Ghana” project ensuring that the tourist experience is enhanced and visitor length of stay and expenditure are increased by 30% for wealth creation in host communities.
