VISION
The vision of GATTA during the period under consideration is to promote the sustainable development of travel and tourism in Ghana and beyond.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the 2-year Development plan is to create a forum for consultation among members and all stakeholders with the view to establishing appropriate standards that will promote and develop the industry for the benefit of all members.
STRATEGIES
a. Secretariat/Travel Information Centre
The Assocation will endeavour to establish a Secretariat/Travel Information Centre with all the relevant facilities to enable the traveling public to have access to travel information and other travel details. The Secretariat will be the co-ordination centre for all matters
b. Committees
The Association intends to put in place the following committees to implement programs and activities that will ensure the achievement of its vision and objective:
Membership/Welfare
Finance/Fundraising
Education/Publicity
Training
Special Projects
Disciplinary
Legal
c. Education
The Association will mount an effective educational programme to educate the traveling public about the Travel & Tours Agency profession and sensitive them about the needs and advantages of using the services of a Travel & Tours Agency
d. Traning
Continuous training for owners/Directors as well as the frontline staff will be given priority to improve upon the standards and efficiency of service delivery to the traveling public as well as our principals
e. Annual Kente Festival
With the view to the rich culture of our country as well as promoting domestic and international tourism, the Association will institute the Annual Kente Festival to be held in December each year.
f. Tourism Sites
GATTA intends to visit most of the tourist attractions and facilities and begin and extensive promotion to encourage both domestic and international incoming tourism.
g. Membership/New Image
The association will ensure that only members who satisfy all appropriate requirements and line up to expectation will be accepted as members. In addition, GATTA will monitor performance standards and ensure a new positive image
h. Principals/Ghana Tourist Board/Ministries
GATTA will co-operate with the Sector Ministries of Transport and Tourism , Ghana Tourist Board, and all principals to ensure that the industry develops to the benefit of all stakeholders and the nation in particular.
FINANCE
The implementation of all programmes towards the achievement of vision and objective depends on finance. The Association will solicit funds from within and without to support the development of the industry.
SUPPORT
It is the firm belief of the Executive Council of GATTA that if members are truly united in all things we do as Association, we can stand the test of time and achieve our vision and objective.
The council therefore needs the support of the Sector Ministries of Transport and Tourism and the Ghana Tourist Board and the full cooperation of all members.
